That’s why we’re so excited to be partnering with Aluan, a social enterprise trying to make good with coconuts by producing some of the finest Raw Organic Certified Virgin Coconut Oil in Indonesia.

 

Aluan maximizes the value added to coconuts in the same place they’re grown, and supports communities who depend on coconuts for their livelihoods.

 

 

Aluan is based on the beautiful island of Simuelue, where they’re supporting local farming families at origin by purchasing whole coconuts at premium prices, and creating green jobs by piloting a bio-energy system to power its factory from coconut waste. Aluan preserves the biological integrity of the island by re-planting trees on existing underutilized land, they use every part of the coconut to ensure zero waste, and the final product is delivered in reusable and recyclable glass jars.

 

At the end of the day, Aluan is producing a certified organic, cold-pressed and completely raw virgin coconut oil that is good for all forms of food creation, and can be used for skin and hair, all while proving that for-profit ventures can have a positive impact.
